A facility improvement project involving sitework, demolition, concrete, paving, masonry, EIFS, roof shoring, and structural steel work. The project required modifications throughout an existing facility before being turned over to a new tenant, including the reconfiguration of loading docks, installation of new equipment pads and protection, wheels stops and speed bumps, employee-access improvements, and demolition of concrete and pavement to support underground utility work.

Scope Overview:

  • Sitework: Installation of approximately 95 speed bumps, concrete and asphalt repairs, sidewalks and ADA ramps, precast barriers and wheel stops, approximately 40 steel pipe bollards, and restoration of disturbed landscaping.

  • Demolition: Extensive saw cutting, GPR scanning, concrete and asphalt removal, demolition of 38 existing dock levelers, removal and reconfiguration of tilt-wall openings, removal of an existing office block, and demolition associated with new equipment, utilities, refrigeration, and loading dock modifications.

  • Concrete: Construction of new dock-leveler pits and infills, slab replacements, equipment pads, freezer slab construction, thermal breaks, utility pads, catch basins, ramps, stairs, curbs, spill-barrier foundations, bollard foundations, and pavement restoration.

  • Masonry & EIFS: Construction of CMU infills and walls, dock-door infills, EIFS repairs and matching, and exterior painting.

  • Structural Steel: New dock and equipment embeds, canopy connections, grab railings, rooftop mechanical equipment supports, extensive joist reinforcement, HSS reinforcing, davit crane support and installation, and 2 sallyport frames.

  • Utility & Infrastructure Support: Extensive excavation, trenching, spoils removal, backfilling, stone placement, pavement restoration, and preparation for electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and other utility installations.

  • Additional Work: Temporary roof shoring, snow and ice removal, additional ADA and employee entrance improvements, and work resulting from revised construction documents and field conditions.
